Ligustrum Vulgare is a new play directed by Jon Ferguson and collaboratively created with actors; Tim Cameron, Adam Hegg and Katie Kaufmann. In this dark tale of suburban brutality we find out how distant neighbors can be. And that life in the garden can be extremely dangerous especially when crab grass, dandelions and the height and placement of the privet hedge are a main concern. A stagnant environment of distorted priorities and heightened physicality… part Beckett, part Pinter, and part Coen Brothers. Based on an English newspaper article about an escalated tragic argument over a privet hedge (ligustrum vulgare). Tranquil and horrific... but everyman needs a hobby and a way to bury the past. For maturer audiences.
