"Uptown Girl" premiered at the MNCBA Fall Con (read: large comic book convention) on Saturday October 8th, 2005. The film subsequently screened at the St. Paul Art Crawl at Aroma's Arthouse Cafe; at the Uptown Girl DVD release party, November 16th, 2005 at the Uptown Bar and Cafe; and also at the IFP Cinema Lounge at Bryant-Lake Bowl on December 21st, 2005.

"Uptown Girl" is an independent short which was shot in April/May 2005. Directed by Ben Mudek and filmed by DP Sam Fischer, the film is based on the comic book of the same name by local artist Bob Lipski.
