Statement

The chaise lounge is formally tied to the reclining nude, which conjures associations to the arabesque curve used in decoration. Through the use of materials and structure I intend to convey ethereal qualities in the chaise lounges I produce. The casual body position facilitated by the chaise lounge encourages a state somewhere between rest and activity.
