VETERANS FOR PEACE
TWIN CITIES FRIENDS MEETING
PEACE AND SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE OF TCFM
This project will initially consist of rehearsed readings of three plays from the history of war. The actors, professional and non- professional, will meet on the first Monday of a month and read and discuss the text. Simple stage directions will be given. All actors will be given fliers to share and announcements will be sent to peace and religious institutions and other interested groups.
On the second Monday of the month we will meet, run over the rough spots, and perform before an audience at 7:30 pm.
We will have a few funds from the groups listed above and a few private donations. These funds will go for xeroxing the scripts for programs and for fliers. We hope to obtain free or very inexpensive space and will pass the hat at each performance. Any funds above the expenses of xeroxing scripts, programs and fliers will be divided between our sponsors.
For this project we are hoping to use spaces in religious or educational institutions free of charge. Because we will perform once with just one rehearsal and because there is no entrance fee charged there is no royalty due and we will be able to use union actors.

TIGER AT THE GATES by Jean Giradoux was first produced in London in June 1955 and is a translation of La Guerre de Troie nĠaura pas lieu, a brilliant and bitter comedy set in Troy, a city doomed to betrayal and destruction. The story of Hector, a military man who knows the horror and degradation of war, struggling to preserve peace in the face of jingoistic sentiment and mob hysteria. (The Editors)
