Statement

"WE" is a 45 minutes dance-opera based on the 1922 novel by Yevgeny Zamyatin with original Choreography by Nesiyan Tobak, live vocal and instrumental music composed by Keith Collis, and recorded sound and music from various classical and traditional sources. Zamyatin original work was banned in Russia but smuggled to Europe, where it serves as inspiration for George Orwell's "1984".
Essentially, forbidden lovers defy an oppressive future society. Regular citizens move like automatars while the rebellious lovers and a secret underground society embody life and hope.
The project became available due to collaboration of "TobakNI Dance Company" and "Decadence Production".
