This scene depicts Joseph entering Heaven. Joseph is surrounded by God, Jesus, Mary, the Holy Spirit, and a host of angels. Holding his staff that sprouted lilies as a sign to Mary that he was to be her husband.

Notice that Joseph’s hand that is pointing down. He is pointing at the tabernacle as a reminder of it’s importance.

The design of this mural was inspired by an old print that the priest had.

The figures where painted on canvas in my studio. An assistant and I installed the canvases on location. Then we painted the background of sky, clouds, and the center of the arch directly on the wall.
