Utility blade placed on a compact disc as if it were the needle on a record turntable.
Dark mysterious background with the reflection of Bin Laden barely visible near the point of the blade
Improvisational piece that started with a utility blade pushed lightly into a compact disk.
After photographing the image partly in laser light and partly in photofloods the image was distorted and altered with various photoshop filters. A reflection of Bin Laden
was layered below the reflection of the blade. As usual I didn't know where this was going until it became evident at some point.
Simple, mysterious, stunning and effective. It takes a while to locate Bin Laden but then
I felt that this is probably part of the intent of this piece.
This is quite an amazing photograph. At first it appears to be a rather plain (albeit intense) display of content and form but after a deeper look more goings-on become evident. I'm not sure what message there may be to this image. It comes across as
funny in a way (reminding me of the Where's Waldo game) but then again I feel there may me an attempt to convey something of a serious nature.
