This uniquely collaborative work combines dance movement and physical theater with animation/new media that is fully integrated as a main character. The Train Wreck is Proceeding Nicely is the story of a man fighting for sanity in a world gone mad. Set in an asylum in the 1950s, ‘J. Robert Oppenheimer’ finds himself at the center of an inquisition. The circus trial takes on the form of an early television variety show, which careens from absurd predictions about the future to a bathing beauty chorus line and back to loyalty hearing. This dark comedy challenges our views of our collective past, tracing connections to the seemingly out-of-control extremes in our world today.
