Statement

Much of my work is influenced by Scandinavian folk art and mid-century modern design. Music, nature and science are also undeniable inspirations. Former studies in theatre design and stagecraft had an impact and led me to explore small-scale installation and the potential for visual dialog between forms. Likewise, the basic structure of a game will often act as a catalyst or framework for which to explore fate, order, chance and the human condition.
I can't remember a time in my life when I did not have a desire to create objects. I am an artist because I have never been content to make the same object twice. I enjoy the psychological journey the creative process exposes and the great conversations and revelations it has led me to. To this end, abstraction holds my interest because of its ability to generate several thoughts or conversations at once.
