etching on embossed paper, 15x22", 2001
Concentrating on my relationship to landscapes and architectural elements of both small rural towns and old portions of large cities, I attempt to call attention to those surroundings that are often forgotten, overlooked, or simply left behind. There is a depth of memories and associations to be uncovered. Richness exists in what has not been replaced and made clean, fast, and easy to grasp. I am ultimately in search of understanding how an aged beauty can inform a new aesthetic in relationship to our contemporary society.
