Statement

I love books: the sense of depth, of traveling between the pages, and from cover to cover; the narrative aspects, and the visual opportunities. In "My Favorite Book" I used a found object book and then covered all the pages with an intense visual journey and my own text.

I like the fact that several books were destroyed - including a 60s home economics text book, and an 1890s health manual - in order to bring this new book out. A lot of hours and ModPodge went into this work, and it shows in the way the book can't even be closed: it sits half-open as if the story can't be avoided, it's about to be read, or it's about to be finished.
