Minnehaha Falls inspired this piece, but I wanted to do it in a way no one else has. I had done another piece in this style, an oil painting collage on hand embossed paper and I thought it would be interesting to try. Water after all is filled with pattern in all it's forms, so I treated the waterfall as a decorative pattern. Then I decided it needed bathers to enjoy the tranquil setting. Since it is a peaceful scene
and following September 11- like everyone I was missing peace, thus the title, but it's also a pun as I literally lost a piece while this collage. It measures 3'x 5' 1 1/2" and was exhibited in the 2003 Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Show.
