Anat Shinar

Biography
Anat Shinar is a Minneapolis-based contemporary performance and visual artist, curator, writer, educator, and member of Fresh Oysters Performance Research collective. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BFA in Dance and a BA in Visual Arts, and completed her Master’s degree in Arts and Cultural Leadership, also at the UMN. As a performer and choreographer, she has worked with Bouchra Ouizguen, Laurie Van Wieren, Pramila Vasudevan, Charles Campbell, Megan Mayer, Anna Marie Shogren, Morgan Thorson, BodyCartography Project, Chris Schlichting, and Carl Flink. Her choreography has been presented at The Minnesota Museum of American Art, Center for Performance Research (Brooklyn), Pillsbury House Theater, Walker Art Center, Red Eye Theater, Southern Theater, The Soap Factory, SooVAC, and the Bryant-Lake Bowl. She is the Director of Community Partnerships at Young Dance, a dance education non profit, as well as a teacher, working with students of all ages and abilities. In addition, she is teaching artist with the Cowles Center for Dance.
